The butterfly valve has a disk made of high quality stainless steel that can be operated from outside the system. When the valve is open, the disk is positioned parallel to the flow direction, thereby allowing fluids (such as water or drinking water) or gas to flow through the system with minimal flow resistance. This technical set-up allows for very high KV and KVS values. The big advantage of the butterfly valve versus for example the ball valve is that it requires very little space, since the intermediate flange are manufactured in a smaller face-to-face length. The flange within the butterfly valve can come with a lug type body or a wafer type body, depending on your preferences. The butterfly valve can be controlled with a lever, a crank handle (also called a gear), a pneumatic actuator (single-acting with spring reset or double-acting) or with an electric gear. Depending on the medium or gas, our butterfly valves come with a FKM, EPDM or NBR lip seal straight from our storage. Which seal or lip seal you should choose depends on the corrosion resistance you are going for. No matter what type of system you are operating, for example biogas, methane, water or naval architecture, we offer you the right shut-off valve.
NieRufs butterfly-valves have proved to be reliable, efficient, secure and long-lasting.
