Continuous flow measurements must be performed in pipes and technical plants. The magnetically induced flow meters (MID) from NieRuf are suitable in particular for measurements with feedback. The data is transmitted by electronic signal, 4-20mA to the control system. Alternatively, there is a meter model with a display (MI02) for direct reading of the flow volume. The advantage of an electromagnetic flow meter lies in the fact that it can be used almost regardless of temperature, viscosity and pressure The meter comprises a measuring pipe, through which a medium (the medium must have a minimum conductivity) flows. Two opposing measuring electrodes are fitted to the measuring pipe, which determine the inductive measurement voltage and transmit it to the measuring point. Thanks to this method, in which a measuring element does not have to be integrated into the measuring pipe, viscous media such as sludge, mash or pastes can also be metered. Depending on the design, the MIDs are also suitable for acids, solvents, alkalis, as well as sand and water mixtures. The electronically inductive flow meters are frequently used in building technology, shipbuilding, in the food industry, the chemical industry and in the extraction and processing of oil, gas, cement, pulps, minerals or wastewater and water management.
