FAQ-Product
The devices are statically mechanical devices that visually show a fluctuation in the flow under defined process conditions. All other parameters must be defined and rigid, otherwise the result will not be displayed correctly. If different parameters are used than specified, it may be that the device displays incorrect results or, in the worst case, does not work at all.
Our float flowmeters do not require an inlet or outlet section.
The device can not differentiate here, it would measure the air as well.
We generally recommend damping the float for gas measurements and vibrations in the pipeline.
In addition, attenuation should be used in the following cases to achieve a better measurement result:
- Applications where air bubbles in the medium cannot be avoided
- predominantly beating pressure in the pipes, e.B. due to rapid throttling or shutdowns
- Turbulence, vibrations, etc. that can lead to vibrations of the flowmeter
- fast pressure build-up in the pipeline
No, even with zero conveyance, a return flow through the device is possible, as there is always a small gap between the float and the measuring cone. Otherwise, there would also be a risk of damage to the measuring cone or the tilt. When the pump is switched off, the medium flows back.
The use of the guide rod depends on the flow rate, see operating instructions. Magnets must be used when contact is required, or are offered to generate certain flow rates.
(see operating instructions)
We can only map one medium at a time with our devices – a conversion between different media is not possible.
The G 2.5 qG 50% means that at 50% of the final measuring range, the maximum deviation may be 2.5%. This applies from 50 – 100% of the scale. Among the 50%, the error may become larger. From 50% of the complete measuring range, the error (the allowed error) is 2.5%. For example, at 10% of the total measuring range value, the error may even be 12.5%.
No, because a float with magnet must be used. Replacement of the float is also not easily possible, since the magnet has a different measuring behavior, i.e. the scale must also be recalibrated.
An Ex approval is unfortunately not possible with the limit value switches.
If ATEX is desired with this device, the splinter protection must always be ordered.
As soon as contacts are required, the device no longer has ATEX approval, as the protective tube is not only open at the front, but also at the rear. At the front, the splinter protection is used so that the ATEX approval applies. However, this cannot be used together with contacts on the rear opening of the protective tube.
The pressure should always be greater than the pressure loss of the respective float. The flow ranges in the datasheets are the standard measurement ranges.
(Air at 0°C and pe 0 bar)
In the case of gases, these are only used to convert the flow rate.
