Pressure sensors measure the pressure within a pipeline system. The pressure is then depicted optical or on a digital display, or transmitted by electronic signal to a Direct Digital Control (DDC). The DDC then processes the signal and depicts it graphically. There are two ways of measuring pressure: Typical gauge pressure measurement and absolute pressure measurement. Typical gauge pressure measurement measures pressure with regard to the ambient pressure. Absolute pressure measurement happens in a vacuum.
In order to measure the pressure, a strain gauge is mounted to a ceramic membrane, which measures the deflection, thereby determining changes in pressure. Ceramic membranes can withstand high pressures, are resistant to pressure surges, vacuum-tight, resistant to chemicals, corrosion and abrasion and insensitive to temperature surges. Also, they are very accurate and prove a high long-term stability and low temperature effect.
Pressure sensors play a crucial role in almost all pipeline systems, since these systems require constant monitoring and service. A pressure sensor is thus a very useful tool to monitor pressure within the system. Please find our wide selection of pressure sensors below.
