Sight flow indicators can be used to monitor the flow and filling level in a pipeline. They are manufactured in a straightway form and have a window, which can be made of borosilicate glass DIN7080 or soda-lime-glass DIN8902. Which glass you choose depends on the medium in the pipeline and its resistance. Whenever you are dealing with a liquid or gaseous medium, a sight flow indicator should be used. This allows you to not only monitor the filling level in the pipes, but also to detect contamination which could damage the system. Additionally, it allows you to control the flow direction of the medium. Since some liquid and gaseous media are transparent, they are hard to monitor visually. That's why NieRuf offers three varieties of flow sight glasses. The standard model has a drip nozzle and can be used with liquid media such as water. The diameter of the drip nozzle is smaller than the diameter of the flow sight glass, which enables you to see detect the medium. But the sight flow indicator can also come with a rotor or a flap. The medium, whether it is a liquid or a gas, moves the rotor, thereby showing you the flow direction. In the sight flow indicator with flap, the medium must flow from bottom to top, otherwise the flap does not open. Once the medium flows through the pipeline, the movement of the flap indicates this.
