A vent valve protects containers, pipeline systems or tanks from underpressure via targeted airing and therefore prevents damage such as deformation and contraction. The vent valve constantly synchronises the previously defined differential value between atmospheric pressure and internal pressure within the container with the current differential pressure. Should it fall below the set value, the vent opens and draws air into the tank, container or pipeline until the pressure fulfils the desired differential value. In order for your vent valves to function reliably, you must maintain them regularly and keep their vent openings free of dust and dirt at all times. Only then are they perfectly protected against underpressure damages.

A vent valve only reacts to underpressure. In order to protect your pipelines, tanks and other containers against vacuum, we recommend the installation of a safety valve. When pressure gets too high, this gently discharges the excess and therefore prevents your pipelines, containers, silos, etc. from bursting.
Our product range includes four different vent valves: Type VB01 and Type VB02 are optimised for utilisation with neutral, gaseous media such as air, gases and technical vapours and are made from high-quality, non-corrosive stainless steel 1.4404. It is sealed with a PTFE carbon seal. Concerning the male thread, the vents have the three nominal sizes ½", ¾" and 1" (VB01 is additionally available in 2" inches). They are suitable for temperatures from a maximum low of -60°C to a maximum high of +225°C. Vent type VB01 is set at an opening pressure of -6mbar pressure difference. Type VB02, however, covers differential values between -100mbar and -800mbar. Types VB03 and VB04, on the other hand, are made from brass.
