DISCO non-return valve made from high quality materials
A DISCO valve is frequently used in industry and pipe construction if there are specific requirements for the material. This is why only stainless steel or cast iron is used in the manufacturing. As a result of the special design, the same valve can be used for pipes with PN6, PN10, PN16 and PN40 as well as for ANSI150 and ANSI300. This increases its flexibility considerably. Depending on the medium flowing through the valve, they are finished with an EPDM, NBR, FKM, PTFE or metal seal. The DISCO non-return valves are made with flange connections with the nominal widths DN15 – DN300. The valve only needs a very small opening pressure of merely 0.2 bar and depending on the model can be used at up to 700 bar. Thanks to our kit system, specific opening pressures are possible upon request. You can also discuss special valve sizes with our Technology Department. NieRuf offers the DISCO non-return valve in two different variants.
Type RV01 made from stainless steel
The valve series RV01 made from stainless steel is the simpler and cheaper option. The valve disc here is loosely integrated into the fastening. Depending on the selected seal, the temperature range extends from -10°C to a maximum of +300°C. The seals can be made from NBR, EPDM, FPM, PTFE or metal. This valve is available in the nominal widths DN15 - DN100. The casing material comprises high quality stainless steel 1.4408, the disc material and the spring are made from stainless steel 1.4436. The pressure range extends from 0 bar to a maximum of 40 bar. A pressure loss diagram is provided by the accompanying datasheet.
Type RV02 made from stainless steel with guided disc
The special feature of the Disco valve series RV02 lies in the guided valve disc. Because the disc is not integrated loosely into the fastening, but instead is held in a small, pin-like guide, it cannot stick. Consequently, the valve closes and opens more reliably and considerably increases the lifetime. As a result of the adjustable nubs, installation between two flanges is also considerably easier, as the valve is automatically aligned by gentle rotations, this applies both to DIN and to ANSI flanges.
How is a non-return valve integrated in the DISCO design?
The valves and the connected O rings have to be checked for any damage before be fitting. Additionally, the mobility of the disc should be checked. Damaged parts must not be fitted in any case. Please ensure that only valves are fitted, whose pressure class, chemical resistance and dimensions correspond to the conditions of use. There must be a straight piece of pipe of at least 5 x the nominal diameter before and after the non-return valve. The valve is fastened between two flanges. Direct assembly on the pump flange is not approved. Pulsing flow conditions and pressure shocks in the pipe system must be avoided. The flow direction must be observed (see arrow on the identification plate). During a subsequent pressure test, the seal of the connections must be checked.
