Dual-plate-check-valve: the ultimate backflow protection
The dual-plate-check-valves from NieRuf can be made from one of two materials: The high quality model is made of stainless steel and can be used with oil, fuel oil and demineralized water, which comes in handy in areas of chemical industry or plant engineering. The cheaper model is made of GGG40 and can be used with less demanding liquid and gaseous media. It is often used in building technology as well as water- and sewage technology. They come in nominal sized from DN50 to DN600, which means they can be used exclusively in larger pipelines. The seal, depending on the medium, can be made of NBR, FKM, EPDM, Viton, metal or FPM. The FKM seal is most often used with oil, while the metal seal can withstand steam very well. All plates come with a return spring. The check valves can be mounted in any installation position, but keep the flow direction of the medium in mind. It should flow from bottom to top. The opening pressure of the valve can be found in the data sheets. Individual pressure and leakage tests are possible for each dual-plate-check-valve.
