Angle seat non-return valve made from high quality stainless steel.
The casing, the disc and the cover of the angle seat non-return valves are made from high quality stainless steel 1.4408, the spring comprises SS316 and the soft seal is PTFE. The Y non-return valve is available with bilateral internal thread BSP in the nominal widths G ¼“ – 2 ½“ inches. The length of the valves is between 64mm and 167mm, depending on the model. The stainless steel non-return valves can be used up to pressure level PN40. The lower opening pressure differs depending on the nominal width and is between 40mbar and 25mbar (more precise information is contained in the respective datasheet). The valve is suitable for liquid and gaseous media, as well as neutral and non-neutral media with temperatures between -25°C and a maximum of +200 degrees Celsius.
Use of the Y non-return valves
The Y-design non-return valves are frequently used in heating engineering in the cold and hot water area, there are particularly in demand here because of the good temperature properties, the high flow values, the low opening pressure, the short lengths and the reliable sealing. These valves are also very popular in other areas thanks to the easy installation, the low price and fast cleaning. For example, they are installed in tank systems, for garden irrigation, in pump systems and in water and water treatment plants.
Maintenance and cleaning of the threaded check valves
In normal cases, the valves are very insensitive to malfunction and low maintenance. However, is dirt is not filtered out of the medium, the has to be cleaned occasionally. Impurities, for examine in the water, can limit the functioning of the spring and disrupt the opening and closing process. For easy cleaning, the valve should be installed between two ball valves , this makes it easier to remove it from the pipe and refit it. The cap of the Y non-return valve can then be removed and the internal spring cleaned with water. If is is too difficult, a dirt trap can be installed before the non-return valve. This removes dirt before it reaches the valve. However, the dirt trap also have to be cleaned occasionally.
